Mahomet-Seymour Junior High School Outreach

For our final middle school outreach event of the semester, we went to Mahomet-Seymour Junior High School on December 4, 2014 to do a hands-on engineering activity with them. Students worked in partners to build a bridge out of paper, paper clips, straws, and tape to hold as many pennies as they could. To recreate real-life situations, students were faced with multiple difficulties during the activity, such as only having access to limited resources or only being able to use one hand. Teams did fantastic, with one bridge holding several textbooks in addition to pennies!! A job well done to all the students and iRobotics volunteers as we look forward to a new semester of middle school outreach!
