The Combots team is continuing building two 120 pound battlebots for competition in Miami, Florida. This upcoming weekend will be a major build session as parts are being prepped for additional machining. For the spinner bot, the polycarbonate plates will be waterjet cut tomorrow and the outside shell has been sent off for bending into a 2 foot diameter. For the drum bot, the Spinning Drum will be complete within the week, and the bearing holes will be reamed. Once this is complete, the drum but will be finished mechanically.
In addition to these two bots, the team will begin designing a concept for a 15 pound bot as a demo for a potential internal Combots competition the following year. Designing this bot will also give an estimate for the cost of a bot this size to determine budget size the following year.
