Three minute matches, two killer robots, one winner: add it all up and you get combat robotics! The Combots teams in iRobotics design and build 30lb combat robots throughout the year, fighting them at competitions from NHRL to UIUC’s very own Robobrawl tournament. Each robot has a unique method for knocking out its opponents, with weapons ranging from high-speed rotating weapons to gear-actuated hammers. If you have a passion for robotic mayhem, then Combots is for you!
Each April during EOH, the University of Illinois hosts its own combat robotics competition, known as Robobrawl. Robobrawl is the largest 30lb combat robotics tournament in the United States. The competition features robots in both the 1lb and 30lb weight classes and teams from across the nation. Every Combots team at UIUC enters at least one robot into the competition.
