Dan Tisza

Dan graduated from UIUC in 2016, and is one of the original founders of the Robobrawl competition. He also is responsible for the redesigned 16' x 16' arena, and has a penchant for cutting through red tape, a rare skill on a university these days. He has been building combat robots since his high school years. He was the primary designer of iRobotics' 60lb bot, Big Papa, and competed in Robobrawl 2017 with the robot First Contact. He also works with Ryan Shulski as part of the UIUC Alumni team at Robogames, who competed in 2017 with the 60lb Bigly.

Ryan Shulski

Ryan is one of the founding members of Combat robotics at UIUC. Additionally, he helped orchestrate the merger of "Action Robotics" with iRobotics, which came to be known as Combots inside of iRobotics. He was the pioneer of UIUC's first ever combat robotics event, Robobrawl, during its ill-fated 2015 debut. He is known for his 1st place win with Botceps at Robobrawl 2016, and as the primary builder and driver of the 60lb Bigly, which competed at Robogames 2017. Known today for his beautifully machined robot designs, and weapons approaching relativistic speeds, it is clear that his machining and design skills far exceed that of his accounting abilities.

Botceps

Botceps is a robot that has been competing in Robobrawl since its conception. Originally built as a 15lb, the design was scaled up for the 2016 season and took home 1st place that year. Known for delivering massive blows from its vertically spinning beater bar, the hearty thrum of a spun up botceps is enough to strike fear into any driver's heart.

Bigly

"Named from a reference to President Trump (funnier in October 2016), Bigly was a live-stream fan favorite during its debut at Robogames 2017. Known for being beautifully machined and dishing out incredible hits, this dense robot is competed heartily in a stacked 60lb division and will be coming back to Robogames 2018 hungry for more. The BiglyBoys from UIUC were a proud representation of iRobotics in 2017.
